REVIEW :

In Little Nightmare II, You're very small in this world, dwarfed by both the creatures you face and the places you have to navigate. Wherever you go, you feel outmatched, as if the end can come in an instant. Even in the brief situations where you can defend yourself, it still feels like a struggle to survive. For the most part, the gameplay is similar to the first game, with a lot of platforming, puzzle-solving, and sneaking. Creeping your way through an area and hiding from grotesque creatures is tense, and the puzzles present a nice distraction from the horrors around you. Though you're defenseless most of the time, there are a few instances when you're able to fight back, such as using a hammer to smash enemies or a flashlight to stop them in their tracks.

These parts give a rare sense of power, but we did have a few deaths from our flashlight automatically tracking the wrong enemy. And dying due to poor controls can be a little frustrating. One of the changes to Little Nightmares II is that you're not strictly alone this time, and Six, the character from the first game, accompanies you as an AI companion. Though this may seem like a cause for concern, since AI partners can often be a headache, Six is more than capable here and never feels like an annoyance. Aside from helping you progress with tasks like cranking levers or giving you boosts, her presence adds a sense of fellowship that genuinely has you caring what happens to each character throughout.

Conclusion

Though slightly longer than the first game, Little Nightmares II is still relatively short at around six hours for a first run. We selfishly wish there was more of its twisted world to see, but its length works well and prevents the game from getting stale. If you need an incentive for a second playthrough, there are some collectibles to search for, such as hats Etc.

Little Nightmares II once again takes you on a disturbing journey through a vividly realized world, and the sense of danger and desperation you feel is as chilling as ever. Inventive new gameplay elements keep you thinking about how to outsmart your hunters, and your partner brings a strong sense of companionship. Whether you're a fan of the first game or a newcomer, Little Nightmares II is worth taking a journey into the dark
