Is Samsung a21s worth buying? - Gaming, Day to Day Usage, and More

Is Samsung a21s worth buying?

The Samsung Galaxy A21S brings more current designs than the A31 launched a few months ago. Despite being considered an inferior model, in this, we have a hole-shaped notch while the A31 still adopts a drop-shaped notch. Samsung's novelty has a plastic body and the same set of cameras from other intermediaries brands, with four sensors at the rear. The biometric reader is more traditional and works well, although the screen takes a while to turn on. It is a large device due to the 6.5" screen. It could have thinner bezels to help, but it is even better than what we have in the A20S. The build quality is good and the paint has a slight chromatic effect that is more discreet than we have seen on the A30s. Something missing in the A20S was the 5G GHz Wi-Fi, which is present in this one. But the first disappointment goes to the screen, for the price asked, we expected to see a Super AMOLED panel but Samsung decided to cut costs and adopted a simple LCD screen with an HD+ resolution. The brightness level is decent, what is missing here is having a light sensor. Whenever you go out in the sun you will have to adjust the brightness manually, as the automatic brightness does not work very well. The colors do not have the same liveliness compared to other recent releases of the line The viewing angle is also not very wide, but it is a better screen than we saw on the A20S.4

For games?

The Mali G52 is capable of delivering satisfactory performance. You'll notice small gagging in some games like Asphalt 9, but it was possible to play PUBG close to 30 FPS in HD quality. Do the 8 nanometers in the Exynos 850's manufacturing process really make a difference? In our battery test, we had a little less autonomy than the A31, which brings the same battery and higher resolution screen. In other words, the A21S is a little disappointing, however, it still delivers autonomy for more than one day in peace. It comes with a 15-Watt charger that takes just over two hours to recharge. Time has dropped compared to its predecessor, which is remarkable if we take into account the battery increase. The Galaxy A21S comes out of the box with Android 10 and One UI 2.0, which should ensure that it receives at least an Android update. The features are basically the same as you would find at any other intermediary recently launched by Samsung. However, it is notable that the Exynos 850 is able to deliver a fluid experience on a daily basis.

Other Specs:

We noticed less gagging on the interface than we saw on others with MediaTek hardware. The fact of having a good amount of RAM also helps to not compromise the multi-tasking experience. As you would expect from any intermediary launched in 2020, the A21S also comes with 4 cameras. The set is similar to what we saw on the Redmi Note 9, the main one has a 48 MP sensor, there is an ultra-wide 8 MP, a macro, and a depth sensor with 2 MP each. The A20S really disappointed in the cameras. It arrived with an intermediate price but it delivered photos from a basic cell phone. The A21S already makes it clear that it is in a category above. The images recorded during the day have good colors, and the HDR works well.

By default, it saves the photos at 12 MP. You can even increase it to 48, however, the Exynos 850 doesn't seem to such a high resolution. The photos lose sharpness and the details of what is distant when, in fact, it should be the other way around. HDR is also lost and the good balance between brightness and contrast is sacrificed, not to mention that storage will quickly fill the exchange for nothing. The wide-angle has less sharpness, however, the brightness and colors of the photos are the same as those of the main camera.

It is worth venturing with this camera to capture more of the scenery. Only in places with low light does it really disappoint with dark, low-quality photos. The macro has a fixed focus and allows you to get up to 4 cm away from what you are shooting. It can even shoot great photos, but the resolution of just 2 MP limits the quality. Blurring does its job well and works with objects and animals. you can even adjust the intensity of the effect before and after taking the photo. The camera that most disappoints is the front-facing one – the quality of the selfies is only average and matches the one delivered by many entry-level smartphones. Just the light falls a little and the noise is apparent. Sharpness is also compromised. Using the flash can help a little, but don't expect miracles. The portrait effect does not compromise the HDR and presents an acceptable cropping level. Finally, we have the camcorder that keeps recording only in Full HD. The quality is similar to that of photos with a good balance between light and contrast. The focus is not slow, but don't expect stable videos.
What we notice is that the ultra-wide camera shakes less. The audio capture is stereo and has very good quality, surpassing even more expensive models rival brands.

As stated at the beginning, the A21S arrived for ₹ 13999.00 to ₹ 14999.00 The A31 can be found for close value and has a better camera for selfies and battery that lasts a little longer, in addition to the Super AMOLED screen that is missing on the A21S.

Do you prefer an alternative from another brand?

For The Alternatives We have phones like From Motorola, there is the Moto G8 Plus. It's faster, has better cameras, delivers a better multimedia experience, but your battery yields less. From Xiaomi, there is the imported Redmi Note 9, with superior gaming performance. But their cameras are not exciting either. The Galaxy A21S has a good jump compared to the A20S, It got faster, gained more battery, and brought better cameras. Now we really have an intermediate cell that behaves as such, different from the A20S that looks more like an entry-level phone.
